Can Dr. Bach's Formulas Help Your Small Business Succeed?

In today's economy, creating your own business is a smart move – as long as you can and will do the work to promote that business and make it grow.

Obviously, the Internet allows small business people to reach out in ways we didn't have just a few years ago. The problem is, everyone else is there too, so entrepreneurs need to do something to make their Internet presence known.

One of those ways is to give talks to groups who might be interested in the product or service you have to offer.

Think about groups who could benefit from knowing some of what you know – whether it's how to write a good fundraising letter, how to remove a spot on your carpet, or how to choose the best real estate agent.

By offering free advice you'll brand yourself as the expert in your field – just like those who "Wrote the book" on a subject.

The second benefit to giving talks is that you'll set yourself apart from your competitors. Most of them wouldn't dream of it because they're afraid of public speaking.

If you harbor a similar fear, don't worry. There IS a solution, and it comes in a little bottle of flower essences labeled "Feel5ive." This is the blend that calms the nerves and lets you get through stressful situations without falling apart.

If you're even afraid to contact someone to offer your talk, start using it right away. Take 4 drops morning, afternoon, and evening. Before long you'll be able to calmly pick up the phone and start promoting yourself.

On the day of your talk take Feel5ive as usual, but add 4 drops just prior to going "on stage."

Who can you speak to?

Service groups and the Chamber of Commerce are always looking for interesting speakers, and once you get started you'll come up with more and more ideas for places where you can speak. Even better, once you get started, it will get easier with each presentation.

You can also speak at your school's Career Days, being sure to give the students interesting hand-out materials that just might make it home to their parents.

Do you know someone who knows everything about everything?

Usually, such people are full of hot air. They don't know much about much, and what they do know is discounted because others simply assume that they don't know what they're talking about. Kind of like the little boy who cried wolf.

I've been thinking about such a person lately, and realizing that the reason for her objectionable behavior is her own low self-esteem and lack of self confidence. She's trying to build herself up in her own mind - and it's not working.

Those of us who know about energy know that Dr. Bach's remedies would help her - but that won't happen because she doesn't believe in natural remedies don't work. In addition, she wouldn't admit to feelings of inferiority.

The first step toward solving any emotional problem is to admit to yourself that it's a problem.

I feel sorry for her. But I also feel happy to know that you and I and others like us do know about energy - and know what to do about it if we start to experience energy blocks. When we begin to fall prey to unhealthy emotional states, we know that  Dr. Bach's flowers are always there to help us get back on track - and that's a good thing.

If you're not sure which remedies you need to help with an emotional imbalance, visit FeelBach! and take our questionnaire. You'll have the answer in no time at all!

Hoarding - a Result of Emotional Imbalance

I have a confession – I’m a compulsive “box saver.” Any time something arrives in a sturdy cardboard box I have to save it. My rationalization is that “Christmas is coming” and I’ll need the boxes for wrapping gifts. Or, maybe I’ll decide to sell something on eBay and I’ll need a box. Or, maybe I’ll have one of my bouts of organizing and I’ll need good boxes.

My family laughs at me about this and I annoy myself a little when I’m trying to stack my empty boxes out of the way. But I never considered it a problem until last week-end.

Then, a TV show I saw made me wonder if I was starting down a path to hoarding.

Have you seen that show? It’s all about people who can’t let go of their “stuff” and after a few years their homes turn into huge junk piles. They can’t cook because their kitchen counter tops and tables are covered with 2 or 3 feet of “stuff” and they can’t sit on the couch because it’s covered too. In extreme cases they have little paths to navigate around the house and have to climb over piles of things just to go to bed at night.

The worst of it is that the people doing the hoarding are so ashamed that they cut themselves off from family and friends and don’t allow others to visit their homes, but they can’t seem to stop themselves. They know when they’re going to yard sales and shopping bargain stores that they don’t need any of what they’re bringing home. They know that old newspapers, empty food containers, and broken toasters belong in the trash. But they keep on acquiring and saving.

On the show, the people who are profiled have agreed to treatment from a behavioral psychologist and the filming follows their progress as they learn to part with things. Some of those people exhibit actual pain just from seeing someone else touch something in their piles. And they agonize when anything – even a 3 year old phone book – goes into a trash bag.

The more I thought about it, the more I thought about the underlying problems that would cause a person to hang on to physical objects in this way. Of course the show mentioned depression, but that’s a pretty big catch-all for a lot of emotional disturbances.

So I went to FeelBach.com and started reading about each of the Bach Flower Essences. I decided that Sweet Chestnut might be a good place to start, but since so many different situations and events could trigger a need to hang on to things, I think each person needs to study the lists.

I’ve decided that as long as I can still use my boxes and send them out into the world, I’m OK. But if you’ve started saving things for no reason that you can understand, it might be time to seek some emotional balance. Go to FeelBach.com and study the brief descriptions, then go to www.bachflower.org to read the long versions.

It simply cannot be fun to end up like those poor folks on the Hoarding show!

Choosing the correct Bach Flower Remedy

With 38 different Bach flower essences to choose from, you may feel confused about which is right for you. Most of us carry a combination of emotional stumbling blocks that can keep us from enjoying life to the fullest - and choosing which is most important can be difficult.

Remember that your personal blend can combine up to 6 flower essences so you can find balance in more than one aspect of your emotional life. In order to make it easier for you to choose, Feel Bach! has produced an informative brochure that explains each of the flower essences and its use. If you haven't received a copy, just go to the Feel Bach! contact page, scroll down, and click to request it.

You probably know that Feel Bach! offers a questionnaire to help you create the perfect blend, but you may feel shy about being completely honest with it. If that's the case, read the brochure and be completely honest with yourself about what you really need to change in your life. Then simply go to "Build your personal remedy," and check up to 6 essences. Your personal remedy will be in your hands within days.

Which ever method you choose, Dr. Bach's essences will help you get your life going in the direction you want - free of emotional roadblocks.

Here's to feeling good!

Bach flowers would help her, but...

Do you know someone who would drive you crazy if you let them?

There's a woman I see at a place where I volunteer who would do that to me. She's one of those people who knows absolutely everything about everything. And she's usually full of hot air.

But I've been thinking about her lately, and realizing that the reason for her objectionable behavior is her own low self-esteem. She's trying to build herself up by setting the rest of us straight. She's so sure of her convictions that sometimes I wonder if she's actually right, but so far I haven't found that to be true.

This week she tried to tell me that the bees who turned my ankles into balloons a week or so ago weren't yellow jackets because one of them left a stinger in my leg. She swore that yellow jackets never lose their stingers. Hmmm... so why does the internet have so many sites giving instruction for removing yellow jacket stingers?

Those of us who know about energy know that Bach flower remedies would help her - but they never will, because she'd never try. I doubt that she's ever done the self-reflection to realize why she needs to jump into every conversation and tell everyone else they're wrong - or the research to realize that she's almost always wrong. But more than that, she'd never try any kind of remedy that didn't come from a pharmacy.

Bach flower essences could help this woman regain her self-confidence and allow her to be someone whose company others could enjoy.

It's too bad - I feel sorry for her. But I also feel happy to know that you and I and others like us do know about energy - and know what to do about it if we start to experience energy blocks and begin to fall prey to unhealthy emotional states.

Bach flowers are always there to help us get back on track - and that's a good thing.

Could a bach flower essence offer heat resistance?

I think I'll have to get out my Bach Flower Therapy book and do some research - perhaps there's something that would help us deal with this!

We've been experiencing a long dry spell - and a long hot spell, which is very unusual for this part of the country. The farmers appreciated it during haying season, but now that they're wishing a second crop would grow, they're hoping for a bit of moisture to help it along. Meanwhile, meadows are "crispy dry" and everyone is feeling a bit nervous about the threat of fire.

My neighbors reported seeing "a smoke" this afternoon, but also seeing the retardant plane flying back and forth until the smoke disappeared. Thank goodness those guys are up there, flying around spotting little fires and putting them out before they become big fires.

One thing I do know, a few drops of Feel5ive can reduce the anxiety of worrying about fire - even if it can't make the weather cooler.

The forecast is for rain on Wednesday - and for once I think I'll welcome a rainy day! I might even go out and dance in it.

Wishing you a worry-free week of joy...
