Do you become paralyzed by fear?

Many years ago, when I was in college, I was required to take a speech class – and I found it terrifying.

We had to write and present three speeches that semester, and once the deadline for preparedness came, we never knew which day we would be called upon to present. I got stomach aches just thinking about going to class.

Back in those days I didn’t know about Dr. Bach’s flower essences. I did know about tranquilizers,
and I took one every day that I might be called upon to speak.

Looking back, I know I wasn’t doing my body any good by ingesting those pills. I doubt that I did my presentations much good, either, by being a bit groggy and spaced out every day.

Fast forward to about ten years ago when I was presented with another situation that, for me, was equally terrifying. But this time I had Feel5ive. Knowing what came ahead, I began taking it three times a day.

I got through that situation without stomach aches and without taking dangerous prescription drugs. I counted on Feel5ive to keep me calm, and it did. While I still had fear, it wasn’t terrifying.
Today I keep Feel5ive on hand all the time. It helps me through everything from visits to the dentist to having to travel over icy roads in winter. I also give it to my dogs before a visit to the vet. (Yes, dogs can experience “White coat syndrome” just like humans.)

If you have situations in which you feel fear, or if your children or pets face fearful situations, come over to FeelBach! and add Feel5ive to your medicine shelf.

Back to School time – already!

It seems like summer just got started, and here it is, time for kids to
head back to school.

Some are eagerly awaiting the first day – happy to begin first grade or to get back in the classroom with their friends.

Others are dreading it, wishing for the days to go slower before they’ll be required to show up.

Your child may be dreading school because it is an entirely new experience, or because it hasn’t been a pleasant experience. He or she may have been bullied or teased. There may be classmates – or even teachers – that make each day unpleasant.

Perhaps you and your children have moved to a new community over the summer – so everything is different and scary. He or she won’t know anyone, won’t know the layout of the school, and won’t know any of the teachers. For a lot of kids, this is terrifying.

Your child may have just moved from middle school to Junior High School. Or from Junior High to Senior High – or high school to college. Everyone is subjected to those rites of passage, but that doesn’t make it any easier for a student who is filled with anxiety over the change.

How can you help?

First, by being understanding without being “enabling.” Let your child know that his or her feelings are perfectly normal. A whole lot of kids feel the same way. If you experienced the same anxiety, talk about how you got through it. Understand it, but don’t make a bigger problem out of it.

Second, by providing your child with a bottle of Feel5ive from FeelBach!.

Feel5ive is the anti-stress formula Doctor Bach created to deal with fear and anxiety. It’s there to help on those fearful first days, and at times when you have to face something like a job interview or an audition, a dental appointment, surgery, or meeting your sweetheart’s Mom for the first time.

Four drops 3 or 4 times a day will help keep your child on an even keel. Since schools are suspicious of anything they don’t know, put the mid-day drops in a bottle of water or juice that your child will take to school.

Oh – and if you are the one who is anxious about your child going off to school, it will help you too!

The Holidays are coming! Time to stop stress before it starts!

What gives you the most stress during the upcoming holiday season?

  • Is it trying to find the perfect gift for every person on your list?
  • Is it worry over being the perfect host or hostess for a large family gathering?

  • Is it simply having too many extra duties added to an already busy life?
  • Is it facing change because of death, divorce, or children leaving the nest?

Whatever it is, FeelBach! has a flower remedy to help you breeze through the season without getting all
tangled up in an emotional upheaval.

If you're usually a capable person, but begin to feel inadequate when faced with holiday stresses, choose Elm.

If you always lack confidence, and feel even worse when confronted with a task such as cooking a feast for the in-laws or deciding on the perfect gift for a nephew, choose Larch.  Larch will help you gain the confidence you need to look back at past accomplishments and realize that yes, you really CAN do it.

If this is the time of year when you're most likely to let others bulldoze you into taking on far more tasks than you want to handle, start taking Centaury now - and find it easy to say "No."

If this is the year that a child has decided to spend the holidays elsewhere, and you're used to being the center of his or her universe, take Chicory to alleviate your need to control. They do love you, you know! Chicory will help you let go of the need to make them prove it by their presence.

If you're facing the season with a change that you couldn't prevent and didn't want, use Walnut to help you accept what you must accept - and get on with living.

Taking my own advice - Feel5ive!

Most of the time my life is pretty calm and serene - but this week I am facing abject terror!

Yes, I'm doing the thing I fear most - going to the dentist. I couldn't put it off any longer. When my darling little horse smacked me in the face with his head a few years back he cracked a couple of teeth that had been capped. And... two of them broke off.

So - it's either go around with holes in my face, or get a grip on fear and visit the dentist.

Feel5ive is going with me - ahead of time. I'm going to start dosing a couple of days ahead of my appointment, just to get myself on an even keel and to prevent getting "all worked up" about it in advance.

What kind of scary things are YOU facing?

Whatever they are, Feel5ive will help you through them. Our flower essences won't make the problems go away, but they'll help you stay calm and collected, so you can get through that time without a melt-down.

Feel5ive is an exact replica of Dr. Bach's original calmative formula. We even use Brandy, just as he did. (Our competitors use grape alcohol.)

When you're standing up to your fears - either by choice or by "no-choice" begin taking Feel5ive at least a few hours prior to the stress. Of course, if the stress is ongoing, you should take it 4 times per day. With this help, your mind will stop running away with you - making things even worse than they really are. You'll be able to focus and do whatever you need to do.

What if you didn't anticipate the stress, but there it is?

Take a deep breath and dose of Feel5ive. You'll feel better soon.

Time for me to reach for Feel5ive…

When it's time to write, I like to write – uninterrupted. In fact, that's the only way I get anything accomplished. Interruptions stop my train of thought and anything I write isn't worth reading.

So… right now I need Feel5ive, just to stay calm and accept the fact that sometimes I'm not going to be able to work.

Why? A good reason, really. We have a new puppy. And puppies bear watching, because just like
small children, they get into everything. And what they get into they tend to chew. Fortunately, I noticed right away when he grabbed the TV remote – and when he started dragging my purse into the other room.

I know I shouldn't laugh at some of his antics, but it was funny when he stood on his hind legs to get a new bag of doggie treats off the pantry shelf. And I just had to stop to grab a photo when he decided to pre-wash the dishes.

Poor baby – pretty soon he'll think his name is "No."

Murphy spends most days out with my husband, but there are times when he can't go along. Then I need to take a deep breath, calm down, and focus on "mindless" tasks until nap time. Fortunately, puppies who are growing by leaps and bounds do need to sleep a lot.

Feel5ive, formulated to relieve stress, relieves the anxiety of wondering if I'll get enough quiet time to finish promised tasks. It helps me stay calm, so that when I do have quiet time I can settle right in to work without needing an hour to settle down.

If YOU have a new puppy - get Feel5ive!
