You know how sometimes some small misunderstanding or disagreement can escalate - just get larger and larger until you find yourself in a place you don't want to be?

Do they see a person who is controlling, one who can't let anyone else be right, or maybe one who is afraid of change? Then think about what feelings you have that are contributing to that image.
